When The Fire Gets Hot, Do You Stay Cool?

fire-2aDaniel 2-3 When the Fire Gets Hot Do You Stay Cool?

When we left chapter two we found life at an all-time high. But life is never without change. And so Daniel’s three friends face yet another challenge from the impulsive despot, Nebuchadnezzar. He has spent months and probably millions to build the statue of his dream. Isn’t that what you are supposed to do with interpreted dreams? What he did not expect was that anyone challenge him about worshiping it! That doesn’t fit with the script! He still does not know that the God who reveals mysteries will not share his glory with anyone or anything else!

When you are still in the knowing “about” God but not “knowing” God you are right where God wants you to be. Perhaps you, like Nebuchadnezzar, have acknowledged Daniel’s God is a God of gods and Lord of kings and revealer of mysteries yet have not taken that vital step to bow the knee. It is then that God may use circumstances or people to teach you that God is not only merciful but He is drawing you to Himself because He loves you.

The three Hebrews face his challenge and answer: we will not serve your god and will not pay homage to the golden statue.  By faith they believed in a God who delivers but even if He chose not to they would not violate the commandment: “Thou shalt have no other gods before Me.”

Are you facing the fire of a furious “king?” Be ye steadfast. Are you prepared to stand strong and not violate God’s Word?  Be prepared: “Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.”

Would love to have you reply ! Tell me what you think.
